To start off with im sorry for my ignorance and impatience.
The last time I was on here I was enquiring about buying a sv box and asking was it worth it, I was then told about the notorious Nag 3 encryption.
I read a few forums about this problem and basically it put me off altogether, now im back and wandering whats the crack basically:

Is the so called nag 3 still going?
If so, is it affecting all boxes?
If not are there any boxes safe from this?

Remember i just a noob at this so be gentle.

All the old boxes will be dead including the linux cable boxes as well the only boxes that will work are the A780 the starview 6 and the starview combo nothing else will work on N3 at the present time

How can you say the linux boxes will be dead e45? It's known to be working, similar to the KV's and the SV's. Just not way out in the open.

can you give me an example of a linux box? sorry but like a said just a noob and still learning.

Also after reading another topic in this forum I understand that the KV's and SV's only work whilst connected to the net to decrypt the channels or something like that? Does the box actually need to be permanently connected to view the channels?

I also read something about the Dreambox, if i am right i understand this works without the need to connect to the internet? If yes, are these affected by the N3?

    Cheers

Both the SV and the KV will only clear channels when connected to the internet, The dreambox is similar as this also need to be connected to the internet to clear the pay channels, sly sports, movies etc.

many would argue with this perspective dub12dave. in the first place has it it possible for the central kv or sv6 server to decrypt channels before they share the information to clients. so it is not true to say that chipped cards do not work in the kv, sv6 or dreambox. you just need to know how to do it. and be aware this is not an n3 crack but how to use an earlier chipped card to view channels on n3
