Is buying a HDTV with a viewing angle of 140x160 a good idea?

I know it should be at least 160 but does the 140 make THAT much of a difference?
Also what does "brightness 500/nits" mean? All other tv's have either cd/m or cd/m2.

C'mon, let's think about this one for a second....

A nit is a unit of measurement of luminance, or the intensity of visible light, where one nit is equal to one candela per square meter. Nits are used to describe the brightness of computer displays, such as LCD and CRT monitors.

    1 nit = 1 cd/m2

Me either, but I figured it was some type of measurement for brightness. Google works wonders...
