Is cpu-z compatible with windows vista?

    Is cpu-z compatible with windows vista? Reason I ask when I checked my daughter’s setup just to make sure the CPU and memory was correct it said the processor and memory cant remember of the top of my head what it said was wrong when I checked in the bios looked ok when I booted into windows xp pro on the other partion it was correct.

    works fine on my vista prebuilt. are you using the latest?

    I take it it’s the latest downloaded it the other day think its 1.46

    Let me guess - most of the information was right, but the clock speed was too low? This is caused by powersaving features that underclock your CPU when it's not being used. If you were to open a demanding application like a game, compressing a file with winrar etc, then open CPUZ, the results would probably be right.

    I was wondering that at the time cant remember of the top of my head but ill try it again if I remember correct the buz speed was correct but it said it was a 1gig when its an 2.2gig

    If it's an AMD that's correct. AMD CPUs underclock to 1Ghz when not under heavy load.

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.1GHz) Socket AM2 Energy Efficient L2 1MB(2x512KB) Cache OEM Processor
    Cheers for the info I’ll give it another bash in the week at work at the moment :)

    Then the info is correct - Cool and Quiet automatically underclocks your CPU to 1Ghz when it's not doing anything strenuous.
