I download DVDFab Platinum from the official site. However, being a bit (I admit it) on the paranoid side, I am wondering a couple of things.

    1. Is this program totally safe to use? No Malware/Spyware/Trojan/Etc...

    2. I did notice that it is excepting itself from (DEP) Data Execution Prevention. Which is in Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings>DEP

Why would it be doing this?

I know I may be paranoid, but better safe than sorry. Can't hurt to ask. Hopefully some of you smart people will chime in, and help me understand this.

    Thanks

If the program wasn't safe, we would not be reccomending it for people to use to rip the movies they own. I have purchased 2 copies from their site almost 2 years ago, and trust them completely.

Updates to what? I have them both fully up to date. Only DVDFab is in the list. I know a bit paranoid, but that is why I come here to get knowledgeable answers.

Hmm, I didn't see how to edit my thread. One other question...
Is there a way to have DVDFab Platinum (Mobile) save my videos in custom resolutions? All I see are pre-set ones, I would like to have it output a resolution I don't see in their list.

    Thanks.

Check for updates when dvdfab starts is why you have it in DEP,it's usually the default if memory serves when it's first installed, look under GENERAL in the settings to untick it

EDIT: Check the help file for any custom reso's,since however you have looked & there is no option to use custom one would assume it's not able too, well there would normally be a custom button or whatever to select if it were possible, unless something on the makers website is there that says different
