I wanted to ask this ?uestion to the true DVD+R DL pros out their. With thanx to all of your help (ALKOHOL, KIVORY666, 2OLDGEEK, WOLFNIGGR) and others if not mentioned. I have successfully burned(I mean)[BACKED UP] a store bought DVD to DVD+R DL disc. Now is this DVD+R DL disc that I have[BACKED UP] or produced an exact replica of my store bought DVD or slightly modified or slightly compressed with less quality? I just don't know that while using DVD Decrypter if the end product is a true to tue original so I'm asking? When I have tried to use CloneDVD2 it would atleast show me a indicator bar for my DVD+R DL disc and the quality bar would be at 100%. I did like to use CloneDVD2 as it seemed to be visually pleasing and the ease of use was pretty kool, and wanted to also ask if anybody thinks CloneDVD2 will add in a future update the DVD+R DL disc support with the layer transitioning problems while trying to watch the dvds on dvd players. Using Decrypter(ISO Read & Write) for DL backups will give you an exact backup of the original.(minus some copy protections)
Hi digit777, Also just so you know Decrypter does not compress any movie so no need for the status bar with that. You know you are getting everything with no compression. Now is there quality loss? I am sure there is a little but nothing anyone here is going to notice. Any time you do anything to an original video file there is always going to be some percent of loss in quality, but doing it this way there is maybe only .0001% of loss in quality. As I said no one is going to be able to tell a difference in the picture quality. Later
Wolf...thanx. Let me just expand. When you say an exact backup of the original, I will not get any form of compression? And the DVD that is created on the DVD+R DL will be (exact) and (precise) in the image on the screen quality? Thanx! Much appreciated!
Thanx bbmayo. As you know myself as others are always satisfied with seeing the nice, new, and shiny kool stuff like the percentage bars and slick stuff that the software vendors pack in their prod. So that is why I had asked. I truly liked CloneDVD2 and am really upset that while trying it out it seemed like it was ready to rock and roll and churn out some great full quality backups to mt DVD+R DL verbatim disc. But that little transition layer break pissed me off about halfway through the movie when my dvd player got up and pratically gave me the middle finger and said thin again. It sucked, so I hope they look into that with a revision which touches base or hopefully fixes that MAJOR IGNORED problem. I guess I would be further pissed if I actually bought the product and wasn't evaluating it. Let me know and thanx.
Yes, like many have said, once you're using a DL media to do a 1:1 backup using DVD Decrypter, then you'll have everything "exactly" as the original. There's no compression needed.
