most movies are wide screen which means they have the black bars across the top/bottom...the ipod screen is small enough as it is without having the top/bottom black bars....can a movie be converted and put on an ipod so there are no black bars?...this way the screen has a larger picture?..... i haven't had any luck with this yet...
try nero 7 i am NOT 100% sure i u open up nero startsmart selecte dvd -> photo and video menu -> make my own dvd-video and select the movie then open 'MORE' then 'video options' then u can select 4:3 or 16:9 screen ratio then 2.0ch or 5.1ch and etc... then encode it and convert to mp4 then i movie will be good sound and picture there is the link if u don't have nero: http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-demo.php
Try PQDVD, you can select between 6 different cropping options when transcoding, and can turn a "widescreen" movie back to 4:3 with ease. http://www.pqdvd.com/dvd-to-ipod-video-converter.html
that's what i am using but it doesn't work.........when the movie is put onto the ipod there are the normal black bars on top/bottom and also on the sides...it doesn't nmatter which crop i use , the movie comes out the same
