If you burn them as data and your player will reognize them, you can but your player probably won't. For a good program to burn to DVD, here but the trial will insert a watermark in your video and runs slower:http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_convertxtodvd_guide.cfm The quality is excellent and you won't need any other programs.

what is a watermark? and also, since my ILo DVDRHD04 quit reading cd's, would i be as well off to buy a player capable of reading divx? Thanks for your input.

A watermark is a (usually) see through logo that appears somewhere on your video - they do this to encourage you to buy the full product so as to get no watermark...

As for the DVD player - I think you should invest in a new one...ye

I would assume so but don't know. If the data fits on a CD and your player reads CD's, I don't see why not but, again, I don't know.

If you want to watch/burn dvd content then you will need to do it on dvd disks. Use dvdr disks and good quality media such as Vertabrims.
