I noticed that the EAC and LAME guide stickied on this forum: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1912 is kind of old (2002-03)and was wonder if it was time or necessary to update my version of EAC and LAME that I have been using for a couple of years now. I originally started creating VBR mp3s from the afterdawn guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm and was wondering if there is a new "perfect mp3s" adapter or if my old VBR mp3s are still of comparable quality and won't improve drastically by altering the settings. Thanks for any reply.
Yes, the guide is a few years old, however I've done some research and there hasn't been any drastic changes resulting in higher quality in the newer versions of LAME or EAC. Most people recommend using the older versions of LAME and EAC simply because they are rock solid and have resulted in the best quality in ripping and encoding. Unless there are any major changes or new forms of ripping and encoding, stick with the ones that are proven to work best.
