I came across this a couple of minutes ago and was shocked:

Does this mean that Neph is dead? He was one of my favorite moderators that had a skull in his signature...

Neph decided to take an extended break from AD.

i'd have hoped he'd have been back by now... don't blame him though (if he doesn't come back), like some other mods (myself included) the site tends to absorb so much time in sorting out unruly kids and incessant multiposting/lazy posters that the only way to still enjoy the internet is to get away every now and then, sometimes it has to be an extended break.

He is a great mod. If and when he does come back, all he has to do is enter a new functional e-mail address and his account will be active.

People who end up getting deeply involved in this business tend to end up banned or leaving. I try and stay away from all the drama around here & on the #ad_buddies channel.

I wish him well if he doesn't come back.

Neph will be missed, and I like the sigs he normally puts up also.I'm not sure what happened, but he has always been on point with the decisions he makes.I think everyone gets to a point where they want to just leave, whether it is family matters or just the occasional annoyance.

You can't get too involved...I agree Lethal, but if it gets to the point that you need to leave then why bother. Nice to see this thread resurrected to pay homage to one of AD's beloved MIA mods.

Wow I take a break and one the most respected mods has left or took a hiatus. It is sad as a 'community' that we cannot come together and strive to keep the site fun and informative. Then again the life outside of the net takes presidence and eventually people will choose to spend their time doing other activities. Hope this is yet another wakeup call that WE need to set the example and let the mods/ staff and site admins do their jobs.

My good buddy LOCO told me about this thread yesterday and curiosity got the best of me :p

To give a definitive answer to the thread topic....... nope. To quell interest, I left over the way two individuals handled a certain situation - not because of the individual I think everyone is referring to. I was severely disappointed by their choice of actions and realized that the way I like to operate and my expectations were no longer compatible with things here so I left. No muss no fuss, just gone. And to all who read this please don't make anything of it. Things change, life at AD goes on :)

In recent Neph news three months ago I fulfilled my 20 year dream of owning a Jeep by selling my beloved Dakota and buying an extremely nice and very clean 2000 4x4 Jeep Wrangler TJ soft top. She's bright red, has a five speed manual, a 4.0 liter inline six that purrs, a three inch lift and some decent 31x10.50's! Since then I've been hitting the trails here in Arizona and having some of the best times I've had in decades while doing it. I'm continually amazed at what even a mildly modified Jeep can do! As money permits she'll be getting locking differentials, upgraded shocks, upgraded axle shafts, armor underneath, a decent winch, high clearance bumpers and various other crap I need to hit some REAL trails. Wheeeeeeee! I've also been doing a lot of reloading/shooting as well as enough bullet casting to ensure some degree of lead poisoning I'm sure :)

I hope you all are doing great and diligently keeping the newbies fat and full of good advice :)

For those who have nothing better to do I have a really lame myspace for pics of my latest and greatest adventures.

And here's me and a buddy taking a smoke/dorito/gatorade break. I'm the drunk with the Guinness shirt on :)
