Hello all, I'm obviously new at this. Got a burner a couple of weeks ago (Sony DRU810a firmware 10e) and it came with Nero 6.6.0.19. After checking for updates, I thought I was good to go, and even burned about 5 dvd's with no problems. Found out the hard way that Memorex media stinks, so I started burning some internet files (AVI's) to Verbatim's 2.4x DL discs, but now it seems that Nero is acting up (Using NeroVision Express 3) and I'm now the proud owner of about 3 nice DL Verbatim coasters back to back (very expensive habit of my Nero at this time). I posted my "Burn fail" history log here a few days back, and was told that Roxio clashes with NERO. So I have unistalled it totally with the Zapper. I also attempted to use image burn software to burn DL discs, but the discs will not play in standalone dvd players, only in computers, after following some instructions. Can someone recommend me a good free software to burn internet movie files to DL DVD's or maybe direct me to a link that explains how to use Nero better (which I know is my problem, I'm probably not using Nero correctly) Any and all help is welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

Well, Nero is capable of transcoding various movie files into a DVD. I can't really give you pointers because I don't use Nero for that job. I use Sonic MyDVD because I'm one of the few persons Nero hates. LOL. There's something in my computer that conflicts with Nero. Members here have recommended ConvertXtoDVD for those purposes. I think you can download a trial. Last, try to output to ISO instead of to Burner. That way you check everything worked and save media.
