I tried looking on google but just found a bunch of betas.
    I have a GeForce 8600GT and I'm using powerdvd 7.3 ultra
With HD videos my cpu is around 5-15% but the video is not smooth at all. In Vista though it works great on the same computer.
Is it possible to use Purevideo HD to play smooth video in xp? I think i have the latest driver (6.14.11.6921 in device manager)

You shouldn't need Purevideo to play high def. If video lags, it's a codec problem. What file/media are you trying to play?

A 1080p mp4 with h264 video and ac3 audio. Can it be a codec problem even if with a clean vista install and only powerdvd installed in worked great?

PowerDVD isn't what I'd use to play high-def. I'd use Nero Showtime, mediaplayerclassic or VideoLAN.
