Hi, I was planning on buying a Supercard mini SD and Superpass2 for my DS lite. I just want to ask if its worth it? I read from some sites that setting up the Superpass2 is a bit troublesome since its not that user friendly. And I'm not sure if this is true but I read before that the battery life of my DS will be reduced when using a supercard. Is this true? Thanks.
Why get the Superpass2? Superkey is the latest in the series of Superpasses.. and it doesn't require a game to be inserted. I believe that is the only one that will work with the DS lite straight out of the box -- Superpass2 will probably need some modifying.
All the third generation PassMe's work well with the DS Lite. Don't even bother with the programmable ones unless you plan on using FlashMe and only need it once. As for battery life, all flash carts and adapters are going to shorten battery life to some extent. The amount varies between brands though, and range anywhere from negligible to significant. Since I've started using my EZIV with FlashMe, I've noticed a drop in battery life. Might just be because I've been playing Phoenix Wright and I'm just losing track of time. On a side note, using SuperKey and EVIV Lite on a DS Lite drops the battery life by a couple hours according to my younger brother.
so Supercard users... how does the battery life fare? im thinking of going the affordable route and getting a supercard and passcard *good combo or no*..
if you plan to play GBA roms, you don't want the supercard. There's a few slow down issues with certain roms.. so you'll probably kick yourself for it. The M3, however, doesn't appear to have these slow downs at all.. so even though its about $30-40 more expensive I'd say its worth it
Also, the M3 has much better power managment and you can get another hour or so of play on DS games, and another 2-3 hours on GBA games compared to the supercard.
Thanks for the info guys. I'll try to see if I can get my hands on a superkey coz currently only superpass2 is available in our area. I have tried using the supercard/superpass2 and it seems that the battery life is indeed shorter compared to just using a DS catridge. If I'm not mistaken, my battery only lasts for 6-8hrs of gameplay. A lot of people really recommend using M3 for playing GBA backups. Supercard have a bit of a problem when playing GBA backups (especially graphics intensive like MarioKart).
