Im looking for a program that will scan disks that I have to check for pixilization or other errors. I have a few disks that pixilate on my home player and want to know if I should rerip these disks using the copy or if I have to reuse the original source. As I dont want to copy the pixilation error.
You can scan for errors with Nero CD/DVD Speed if your drive is supported. You will have to assume that the pixellation is occuring where you have the most errors on your disc...
Hi there, VSO Inspector v1.1 (Free) can run a Sector by Sector scan, and a file read scan, to make sure your burned media is 100% Read Error Free. If you use quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell [bold]Made In Japan[/bold] and burn slow x2.0 or x4.0 MAX, you will eliminate most playback problems !
I tried nero speed (7.0). It did report bad sectors and damaged sectors do you advise me to use decrypter to rip the bad disk and reburn it or rerip the original? What im wondering is what will decrypter do when it sees the bad sectors will it find data or ignore it and continue on? Sure the easy way would be to rerip the original but im interested in what if any error would be seen.
Allways Burn your Disks at the Slowest speed Possible to avoid these errors... also a Standalone DVD Player will Detect Errors that your DVD Drive will Not, That is why Bad DVD"s will usually play in your PC but not in your DVD Player..... Cheers
Thanks Minion, I dont have to worry about burn speed im the king of the 1x burn. Whats happening to me to my horror is im lazy and I dont put away my disks but leave them in stacks! Which leaves small rub marks on the burn side when it contacts the label of the next loweest disk. Yeah im goofy because only I can turn a perfectly error free disk into a coaster after a year. Hey you mention the error detection of home units vs computer drives. Why is that more error correction in the computer drives? I got a xmas goody for you. Did you know the memorex has a free replacement with no return of product for defective media? I mean how nice but stupid is this? Im getting replacements for my RL disks before I even try to use them. Surely this cannot last but im getting while the getting is good.
