was just wondering if there's a way to upgrade to a quicker drive to elimate the access time and such. Can i use any generic drive? Do i need to use the drive from another ps2? Is this even possible?

Is it possible to swap a PS2 DVD for another PS2 DVD, same/different model? I have a PS2 that doesn't like DVDs in horizontal and doesn't like CDs in vertical and I need to know if I need the same drive model or what. Thanks
well if its the same version of ps2 as the screwed one then yes definately you could but if its different model version then i dont know for sure.
there is an instruction booklet floating around on the internet about doing a drive swap with newer gen's. i think it's even on ebay right now.
