I'm puzzled by an issue I'm having. I lent a friend 3 or 4 of my copied dvds but her packard bell I-Media laptop doesnt recognise them at all, it brings up a 'no disc in drive' error when play is pressed. The dvd's are good, they've never had any problems when played on many different stand alone and pc players. I use good media (infinti samurai's), dvd decrypter, dvd shrink and nero - all the latest versions. We also both use power dvd to play them. The bit that really gets me is that she says she can play other originals and copies, just not ones that ive done. Is there an easy way to figure out which part of the process is causing her playback problems, is it the discs, software, her drive, etc?? I need to find out as I'm meant to be setting up her laptop so she can do her own copies, but now I obviously dont want to set it up like mine. Any suggestions/fixes welcome!!
Well i know that for some Odd reason some drives can not read disks burned by Other Burners.... I know that my Lite-on DVD Rom Drive can not read disks burned by My Toshiba DVD Burner.... I guess you just make sure that a DVD player can read them and that the Drive that Burned them can read them... You also might want to check for an Updated firmware for the drives as they can fix Burning and reading problems..... Good Luck
I've never heard of these infinti samurai's. I would try verbatum,Tiyo yuden or maxell. Then try +R vs -R. Sounds like a media problem to me. Maybe her DVD drive needs a firmare upgrade on laptop to play the specific media your trying. Good Luck Spacedust
