I can not tell you how many programs I have downloaded that are all the same exact thing just with a couple different features and a different layout. Not one of these will do what I want, and what I want is pretty darn logical. It's about the menu part. I want a program where I can add multiple AVI files and be able to edit the menu where I can have seperate buttons to navigate each clip. Every program will only let me have a button to play 1 clip and thats it, and a button to view the chapters. I could care less about chapters. I want the main menu to have 4 seperate buttons (1 for each clip.) Is that so much to ask for?
Try Sony DVD Architect, its not free thou, but its quite good. I using it for some time now, never had any problems.
Thanks, i downloaded the free trial and can see it's somewhat possible but way to complicated. To elaborate on what I am trying to do is have 1 main menu where I can add a simple image to the background, possible music. And have the main title at the top (eg: My DVD) and below that have 4 seperate links. With this program I can have a small rectangular image, I will just use a snap shot from the video and then text below that. And have 4 of those next to each other and when I click on 1 of them it will play the clip. Do you know how I can do this with this program? Do you have MSN or AIM?
Here is how I understand your request: You want to make a DVD with many episodes or movies with 1 menu that allows to pick which episodes to play and one that will allow you to play them all. You can do what you want with any Authoring program I have tried including: Sony DVD Architect DVDLab Pro DVD Maestro Sonic Scenarist Now, it seems like you are using multiple VTS for your project, which means you have to have a VMG menu to control the multiple movies. This means something like VMGM 1 will be a menu where you can pick from say 4 different movies. Then when you select the movie, it will play the clip. However, when you press the menu button, you will want to go to a menu for that movie. This means you need to have a menu in each VTS. If you are just adding AVIs, you will have a problem though. You need to first encode them to DVD Compliant mpeg-2 with DVD compliant audio. I think Architect has Mainconcept Encoder built in, so that may encode as well as author, but I have never tried to import a non DVD compliant file... Check out this guide for now: http://rapidshare.de/files/35551314/completeguide.pdf.html It is incomplete, but has tons of info on authoring and encoding.
tmpgenc dvd author baby, only way to fly. iv been usuing it to make tv season dvds for years. they try to get you to pay almost a hundo for it... im sure you can find out how to get the ol' 100% discount.
Seems that is easily acomplished with NeroVision Express 3 and above. Each clip would have it's own button (many choices and sizes) on the main (Title) menu. You would choose 'Title Menus only' from the menu dropdown so that clicking on any button on the Title menu starts the clip. You would still create chapters for navigation but you would not have a chapter menu. That's the way I always do it. This could not be done with NeroVision 2, you had to go from Main to Chapter menu to play the clip, a drag. But as of NVE3 the 'Title Menus Only' option was added.
