Motorola Razr V3C I bought this phone because it looked cool and had a camera. As I was signing the contracts I asked if it came with a data cable to get the pictures off the camera. I was told it didnt and I could only send the pics via email which would be an additional fee. My buddy 'coughed" and pulled me aside saying that I could get the pictures off. So I signed and took the phone without the extra picture/texting package. So I've been browsing the forums here and a few other places on the net and I feel I have tried everything to get these pictures off the camera. I have tried P2k - freezes..says Volume fail. I have tried BItPM - this actually almost killed my phone...everytime I turned it on I got a garbled screen and it wouldnt fully boot up....I had to remove the battery and it finally poweder up correctly - I wasnt going to try this one again. I have tried MPT 3.23 and loaded the phone up as a V3 (was the only option-no V3c) and it would never initialize the phone. Tried changing to a V600 per a members sugestion, that initialized but when I brought up the Multimedia Studio it would never show me anything on the camera and would eventually disable itself. I have tried MPT 4.0 and this one seemed to work best, recognized the phone, loaded the drivers, I went to nultimedia studio and it wouldnt display anything off the phone and would disable itself again. MPT4 said I needed an update so I downloaded and installed it and then ran it....this worked the best, foudn the phone, initialized very quickly..I was getting excited, then I relaized what the update did...IT COMPLETELY REMOVED HE MULTIMEDIA STUDIO...IN OTHER WORDS MOTOROLA JUST FUCKED ME BY UPGRADING>>THE UPGRADE REMOVED THE ONLY FEATURE I WANTED!!!!! I am done....I cant win...although Motorola is going to lose me as a customer.....its going back tomorrow unless someone has a fix that they know could work.
These things are tricky, give yourself some time to boil over and calm down. I would suggest uninstalling MPT 4.0, reinstall MPT 3.23, and try to initialize it with that. Make sure the software for the phone is installed, your computer should prompt you to install it, then you install the P2K driver. When I am prompted to install the software for the phone(it might ask me to do it over again even though I previously did it in another MPT session) I choose my own folder and click on my P2K folder. works like a charm...now...I had to put a lot of effort though, just like you. it's finiky
gpb42...I want to thank you for your reply. When you say software for the phone, what software are you talking about? The only software that came with the phone was the verizon/V3C tutorial software. Could it be the fact that my razr is brand new? Like a new version of firmware on the phone or something? Here's what happens... I plug in the phone...windows asks for drivers I point to P2K USB drivers and it finds like 4-5 different things..I get all those drivers loaded. At this point I run P2K and when I change the right hand column from CD Drive to Phone is locks for a sec, then says volume fail down in the left hand corner. and if I click the button to explore it gives an error.
