Every post I go to someone says that they had to replace their Xbox a bunch of times. What are they ALL faulty, or do people not take care of them?

People only post when their 360 has a problem. You're not going to see people post that their 360 is fine.

To answer your specific question here is some information from MS...and no this is not a "fanboy" rant or a "flame" just the truth.

my is still fine but i got it 2 weaks we will see ,but they are all so badly build that those consoles on 90nm will not last 2 years we can bet on it u will see more and more them die ,i think all xbox 360 buyers need to take the biggest lawsuit in history and demand exchange for those 65 nm units that is the way in the world of electronics when u get faulty any piece of hardware that just has little possibility of failing u exchange it for something without that defect

I never had one die on me, but I always kept them in a very open area like I would a PC. PCs have always been more delicate then game consoles, but Xbox 360 with it's bad designs is very fragile compared to an average PC.

Even though the 360 does have a design flaw that "could" make the device fail, if you keep the 360 cool you won't experience it failing. Some xboxers have added external fans, and other ways of cooling it that won't void the warranty.

ALL 360s are covered by warranty, they extended their warranty to cover EVERY 360 EVER MADE. They now have a extended 3 year warranty. So you can play in confidence. They have some over 1 billion dollars in reserve now to replace defective consoles.
So you can play with peace of mind. Just keep that box on ice so to speak.

How it happens: Core temperature rises, mainboard begins to flex,
as this flexing happens, the pins that hold the GPU and CPU to the mainboard start to snap at a stress point, maybe if more components
were "socketed" they wouldnt have this problem, but thats just my hypothesis.

So most of the time when people say their 360 died, they just overheated them and they would not work?

    Good point! :D

Yeah, its just that I am getting one sometime this week, and I was just worried that when I got it, it would break in a few days. I just needed to know why all these 360s were breaking so I could prevent it from happening.
