    Intel core 2 duo T9600, 2.80GHz, 6MB cache,1066Mhz
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT 512Mb DDR3 Graphics
    4GB DDR3 1066Mhz

    it costs £1800

will i be able to play the latest games? is the processor powerful..so will it run the laptop very fast?

    or this one:

    Intel core 2 Duo P9500, 2.53GHz, 6MB cache,1066Mhz
Nvidia Geforce 9650M GT Graphics 1GB
    Hi-res WSXGA+ 15.4" Screen
    4GB DDR2 800Mhz

    This one costs £1100

    so £1000 cheaper.

be honest i do not want to pay less for something which is much slower.

is there a big difference between DDR2 and DDR3?

No, but there's a big difference between the graphics card in those laptops, and I mean big. Stick with the £1800 one, and remember to get an extended warranty for it - nvidia laptop graphics cards don't last very long before going bad, but sadly they are the only company that currently make gaming-grade laptop GPUs.

9500M GS? That's outrageously expensive for the slow GPU in it, you can get 8800M GTX laptops for that sort of money...

There is, but you won't find powerful gaming laptops in the small 15" size as there's no room for the cooling system powerful graphics cards require. You either pay lots more and get midrange (at best) graphics or get a big laptop with powerful GPU in it - for reference I know someone with a 17" laptop, and yes it's big, hut it's easily portable.

I don't, I research! lol. This is what Google's for, man!
As it happens I already know the XPS M1530 is a powerful, compact laptop as I've seen one in action.

Tough one eh? Pay £600 more than the Rock laptop which can play games well for a laptop that can barely play any games at all...

Very poor, you won't be gaming with that laptop at all. That's with the upgrade to the 8400M GS. With the intel integrated graphics it's pointless even trying.
