I'm thinking about buying this computer off of craigslist...I got him to go down to $148 from $200..I just wanted to see if this was a good deal on my part.

    Shuttle XPC Mini pc
    3.2 Ghz Hyperthreading Intel Processor
    256 mb Pcie X 16 Graphics From ATI .
    100 Gig hardrive
1 GB memory (holds up to 4 gigs ram)

How much would it take to upgrade this to be able to play the newer games that would be coming out i.e. Call of Duty MW2 or Dragon Age Origins?

    Thanks in advance.

No not worth it. I might be wrong on this but the last processor prior to the i7 I can recall supporting HT was the P4 which is ancient.

The video card might play those games on low settings...but i doubt it.

The hard drive would be sufficient size wise to install an os and some games, but probably suffer in the performance department.

1 GB of memory is unheard of in most case these days. You would need 4 GB, nor do we know what speed or brand the ram is.

So you would need to pretty much rebuild the whole thing imo. Not to mention a new psu.

Its not a bad pc, btw for maybe $150, but in terms of an upgrade, not worth it.

What was the most you were looking to spend on buying and upgrading a pc? Be warned for a $200 budget its unlikely to find a new, used or new prebuilt, to be able to play these games smoothly. By smoothly I mean just that enough to run them but your not going to get amazing graphics.

I would say your looking at atleast $500 if not more, to be able to run these games smoothly.
