I brought a pack of 10 Mitsubishi DVD+RW disc and also a dual layer DVD+RW disc. I put the disc (either one) into the drive and i am not able to burn stuff into the disc. I uses Nero v7.x.x.x and TMPGnec DVD author, both this program can't burn anything into it. Which i click on disc properties in Nero, it tells me that the disc is unformatted. I went on an try to format the disc but error comes up telling me that i am unable to do so. Is there any solution for this, or i had done anything wrong? I am using Benq DW1670 which support the below DVD+R DL @ 8x DVD--R DL @6x DVD±R @ 16x DVD+RW @ 8x DVD-RW @ 6x DVD-RAM @ 5x CD-ROM/CD-R @ 48x
Hello. Is it just this +RW media you can't burn or format? Can you burn regular +R and -R media? Is your burner firmware up to date? The newest version is 1.03 here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2287 Mitsubishi in the past has used Verbatim as its media supplier and Verbatim is a top knotch manufacturer. Have you identified the media code for the disks. Nero InfoTool will provide both the firmware version (Drive tab) and the media code, i.e., manufacturer ID (Disk tab).
i am able to burn DVD+R but when i try to burn into the DVD+RW or try to format the DVD+RW. Errors come up. Below is the disc i used I will check my drive and media code later and try to flash my drive later if the firmware is not the latest. (afraid i may spoil the drive, any step to step procedure how to do it?) I try again later, if still cannot i post the screenshot here.
And also bro laddyboy, the website that you routed me download the firmware from benq european support site. I am from singapore, is it ok for me to use that firmware?
The firmware versions are for a particular model of burner. It doesn't matter where they are downloaded from. You can find the same firmware version I imagine by going to an Asian support site. I'll see if I can find the site for you. Here you go, the Singapore support site: http://www.benq.com.sg/products/Storage/?product=739&page=downloads&dType=B
bro now that i had updated the firmware to 1.03 but i my com still read the drive as CD-ROM in "My Computer". Still unable to burn any DVD+RW. Any more solution? or you wan me to post any screenshot for you to see so you can help. Thanks in advance =)
Windows sees a DVD drive as a CD drive whenever there is blank or unformatted media in the drive because it has no native support for DVDs like it does for CDs. I'm just guessing that the burner doesn't like this RW media for whatever media. Do you have any other RW media to try?
