Is this possible using any filetype, mkv maybe? Retaining features, menus, etc?

Is it possible to save dvd's in complete form: with menus, special features, etc?

Space is cheap, so I would love to save entire dvd's into a file format that lets me play back the dvd like I stuck the dvd into a dvd player. I have tons of dvd's that I want to convert. I'm sick of having all these cases and want it ALL digitized.

Any suggestions? I do want the files compressed if possible, no reason to waste 9gb on each dvd.

I'll keep looking around and see if I can find something, but so far, nothing.

DVDfab 6 is a program that lets you take the entire disc. You put your disc in and it can extract the entire thing with menu and everything. Then just compress it yourself. I don't know about watching it from their compressed form but VLC player is a free application that will play any movie file type.
