    came accross this link:

    http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-360-globe.html

Plug n Play : User doesn't need to extract his drive-key. The Globe360 special firmware work on any drive version

wots this all about? do u still need to do the firmware hack? right but this chip is only for running backed-up games without the unsigned code which is dat 'ss merger extraction key thing'.

am i right, some please explain clearly. thanks,

It boils down to you either do the firmware hack on your drive or you can install one of these chips with the firmware on it. There's actually a couple chips out now. With the chip you can play your originals and backups. But you can't create your own backups because you'd still need to extract the s.s. from the original.

The cool thing about these chips is they only run the Xtreme firmware when a backup in the drive. Otherwise the real firmware runs. Since the Xtreme firmware is free I won't get a chip until it can run unsigned code, but they way things went PSP I think it's all about softmods these days. Consoles are now made to be updated and thus exploited.

No, it's not impossible. But those mod chips won't do it. You can rip an iso of an original game with your pc drive, but it wouldn't grab the s.s. if you do. So you'd have to try and find a s.s. to download off the web and then inject it into the iso before burning. Your other option would be to download a prepatched iso off the web.

@ scamino1... those 2 programs are the real deal if you want to easily backup your movies. Check out the dvd r forums here on A.D.

Oh I'm sorry about that. That stands for "security sector". If you have the toshiba/samsung drive you can get it off your original. And I think that with the latest firmware you can now get it with the hitachi also, but don't take my word for it. I have the samsung. Once you have the iso and the s.s. there's a simple program you use to inject the s.s. into the iso before you burn it.

I believe that's all the release groups do before they compress the files and upload the the sites. If you do download a copy of your original, just make sure the title or the nfo states that it's already patched.

Example: XXXX USA XBOX360-XXX [PREPATCHED] [MULTI REGION]

I x'd out the game name and the group but you can see what I mean.

    thanks man!

i just noticed you just saved me again with that PCI SATA card, because i have an SATA drive sitting around not being used becasue i bought the wrong kind. lol. The card will work with the HDD right?

(for months i have been searching for and SATA/IDE adaptor and only found the reverse: IDE to SATA.)

    thanks for this.

I actually prefere the nme2.0 and the benq drive
ok ok it means pressing and holding the power button to enable the chip but also ABSOLUTELY ensures 100% xbox live compatibility with retail discs

and the chip is so easy to install onto a benq!
