Really? Thats cool if it works its getting better all the time I can't remember which movies had thet at the begining so I could test it out? I was thinking of removing that step but I think I will leave it just incase it can't hurt @jmet I already tested those movies and they all worked in DVDFabD perfectly and fast too. The only one that didn't work in Decrypter was as I stated earlier "Blast" and thats not even made by Sony.
All ARccOS discs will have this. One of the DVD Decrypter versions had this problem - until it was fixed in the early days of the first ARccOS releases.
To: bbmayo - "Blast" is rippable using just DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 in both ISO mode and File mode. The DVD is only 4.30 GB so of course, you would only need ISO mode to make a 1:1 identical copy of it. But, it also works in File mode, if you wanted to use DVD Shrink to "Open Files" and get rid of some unwanted audio streams.
Jmet, My copy of Blast was 8.4GB so I am not sure you have the same one I did. Mine was not able to be ripped with Decrypter by itself, but that doesn't really matter and thats not what this thread was about, but I do appreciate you pointing that out because maybe others will have the same luck as you did. The point is that there is a proggy out there that is updated regularly which is a very good option if Decrypter still decides not to work.. Cheers
By anychance, did you get this error message? http://img126.echo.cx/my.php?image=ddblasterrormessage7gh.png or this one: http://img126.echo.cx/img126/7285/ddblasterrormessage6bruteforce.png
The above problems with VOBs are now fixed. 2.9.2.3 (07/16/2005) Fix: Output files cannot be accpeted by DVD Shrink and Nero Recode, when copying some new Sony ARccOS protected DVDs, like Anacondas.
So how is the video quality with DVDFab compared to DVDShrink, anyone done a comparison, or see any marked improvement over Shrink? TIA, Rich
You cant compare the two... (as far as video quality) DVD Shrink is a encoder (shrinker) and ripper DVDFab Decrypter is stricktly a ripper So if you are only ripping the move to compare the two then quality difference will be very much the same. The difference will come in the time it takes to rip your DVD and the fact that DVDFab is updated so it will rip anything out there right now. DVD Shrink won't...
bbmayo, Gotcha, should've figured that by myself, after reading your guide, which was very well instructed, BTW. Thanks for responding, and the guide, Rich
"Fix: Output files cannot be accpeted by DVD Shrink and Nero Recode," Was that the problem or has the programmer decided he/she doesn't want it to work with competing software. As far as addressing each other with "junior member" and "member up there, off topic, but, I have ~150 posts (few hundred on old name though) and I'm still "newbie", whats up with my status never being updaeted? It's sorta degrading. Forgive me for the off-topic...
I understood that to mean, that that was fixed in version 2.9.2.3 dated (07/16/2005). But, I could be wrong, Rich
You should read the update note as that now can all to this date released ARccOS protected discs be used in DVD Shrink/Nero Recode if you rip them with DVDFab Decrypter.
