Feed it to DVD Shrink, let Shrink compress it and then you can burn it to disc in either the File mode OR as an ISO image -

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Hi ScubaPete

i have created a ISO file using dvd decryptor,

The file is very large and cannot be burned stright to dvd.

DVD shrink will not recognise the file i have created

I've got DVD shrink beta 5.

any ideas of how i can get these files onto a DVD.

Must i still place these files in the VIDEO_TS file mode too ?

    thanks in advance

hm1: Download latest version of DVD Shrink. Click on "File" and then "Open Disc Image". Then click on the .iso file and DVD Shrink should take it from there. You can direct DVD Shrink to burn your file with Nero or DVD Decrypter.

    Hi forkndave

    i'll give it a try.

I've always read that DVD dycrypter and shrinl work well together.

I'll let you know how i get on.

Just out of interest. I use Recorddx to burn to disc.

Will i have to create VIDEO_TS files before burning ?

I'm not sure if Record Now does .iso or not. It probably does. It's no problem for shrink to output .iso files or a VIDEO_TS folder. It'll do it however you want. If I'm going to use Record Now, I generally have Shrink create a VIDEO_TS folder and I burn that along with an emty AUDIO_TS folder with Record Now in data mode. Works for me. I don't usually use Record now, but I have had cheap discs that Nero wouldn't burn the lead out and Record Now would. Of course they were still crap, but they did burn. I don't think the AUDIO_TS folder is really necessary, but I include it anyway. Nero adds one I know.

    Hi forkndave

    Thanks
I use the same method using shrink, but have never used the iso mode for dvd's just for games and no folder is needed for games.

What I do to open an ISO file with shrink is to select the ISO file and right click the mouse. Select open with, and choose Shrink. Shrink will open and will read the file, and from there you can shrink it and burn it with your favorite burning software. It works every time.

    Hi there hm1,

Do what those guys said -(sorry, was late getting around to you)

You got good advise there -

When not using DVD Shrink you could try ISOBuster, it's an excellent proggy made just for opening ISO images.
Don't forget Nero's recode2, a truly excellent proggy as your menus remain intact :)

Excellent work Guys, nice answers for the question put to you :)

    cheers all,

    Pete

    Hi Guys

just upgraded to the latest DVD shrink and it worked a treat. It recognised the large uncompressed ISO file created using DVD Decrypter and let me analyse and compress like normal, then back up.

Thanks you all for you help

    Hello cdan
Just the same as the above posts. Once shrink reads the iso, go to the right hand side under compression setting, click the drop down arrow,double-click Custom Ratio, and set a ratio to reach the desired size. Hope this helps
