I have a folder that contains an ISO image. I would like to burn the contents, a movie, ISO Buster to do this, I have read. DVD Shrink also can open ISO images ( File > Open Disc Image ) Which of those two options produces higher quality results? I have done neither, but am tempted to open the ISO image in Shrink and then burn / backup whatever is in it as normal, but as I have never dealt with ISOs before, I am not sure if this produces the best results. Anyone with experience of ISOs?
Neither program can produce better quality results. I recommend whatever program you use that your burn slow.
"Neither program can produce better quality results" I guess I should have made it more clear, but it should be read as: Which of those two options produces higher quality results than the other? "I recommend whatever program you use that your burn slow" I am not quite sure what you mean. As far as I know ISO Buster extracts data but does not burn it. I would use Nero to burn, which Shrink also uses. Unless there is something I am missing, the burning stage would be the same. I guess what I am asking is... which piece of software, ISO Buster or Shrink, is more reliable at handling the data in preparation for burning?
1) I create a image (Iso) of a dvd movie. 2) No matter what program I choose (IsoBuster, UltraIso) to burn I can't improve "higher quality results." Otherwords, I can't get better video quality. 3) I personally recommend using burnatonce or Nero
hey jlrm365, If you already have an ISO of a movie, burn it to DVD with DVD Decryptor, its free on afterdawn. Cake to use.
Check out the DVD Decryter guide. It will help you alot. I printed the pages then wrote while reading guide instead of flipping screens.
Hi there, An .ISO file is just like a .ZIP or a .RAR file. (Without compression since it's not a compressed archive). The content or the quality of a video file in an .ISO will not change depending on what software you use to burn it. The speed that it's burned may cause freezing and skipping problems, but will not change the quality of the image !
trock0002 chazbmwUS I've run through the list of guides and can see just one that is relevant - the second half of the "How to burn a DVD folder with DVD Decrypter" ( http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_dvd_decrypter.cfm ) It does discuss using Decrypter's "ISO Write" feature but it doesn't feel like the guide you mean. Can you link to the guide you mean? cougar_ii "An .ISO file is just like a .ZIP or a .RAR file" Except used for extreme ammounts of data? I ask because I have only ever seen software or movies as .ISOs. Thanks for the comparison though, as it made it easy to understand. Initially I thought, only because I had noticed their ISO capabilities, ISO Buster or DVD Shrink. Decrypter seems a good option, but I prefer Shrink for other things and would like to use it for ISOs if I can. Which piece of software would you use to deal with ISOs?
Hello, what i would do if you have an ISO file on your hard drive is get DVDShrink and click on the open file tab and find you file and open it, and then burn it with whatever software you have that is compatible with shrink i use decrypter and it works great...give it a shot
Decrypter worked fine. I reckon I'll take a crack at shrink. Now all I need to work out is how to permanently adjust the aspect ratio, from 4:3 to 16:9. I guess that's another post. Thanks.
