So What i need to know is:
1.what memory card i have to buy (make and size recommended, only have a few games at a time on it) plus the best cheapest place to buy it in UK.and....
    2. how do i set the mem card up to use iso files on the PSP... where do i put the iso files etc.

I don't know a good place for an ms but i do know that on the ms you mak an iso folder where is says psp, video, music, etc. that is where you put your games but for hombrew like emulatores and non psp games they go into the game folder.

Insert the memory card and use the psp to format it (in the menu), this will give you all the folders you need.

ISO - put your psp iso and cso files in here
Video - put your h264 encoded movies in here
Music - yup MP3's are here
PSP / Game = PS1 games in here (in their own folder)

a CR5400 allows two micro SD cards to be used together as you can get 8GB micro sd'd quite cheap and the holder is only a few dollars - this is a good option
