Umm... DiskImageMounter is part of OS X. Should be able to simply double click on the file to mount the image. Disk Utility in /Applications/Utilities will burn the ISO files to CDs/DVDs.

yea, just double click the file, and you should have a white drive looking image on your desktop. if you see that, it means you did it right.

To further this convo: does anyone know what program is best for ripping a dvd into ISO format of a MAC. Most of the software I have sen for MAC converts the DVD files into AVI, MKV, etc. Most don't seem to have ISO as a possible format.

I use "Toast" to make an image file(.ISO) after I have ripped the DVD to Video_TS folders. You just take the folders and add them to toast as if you were going to burn them to dvd. Right next to the "burn" option it has a button to "make image file", just click and wait a few minutes and you have an image( ISO file)

I followed your advice and created an image file using popcorn/toast....(same thing!) I noticed that both Toast and Popcorn with save the file under the file exctention of ".toast" rather than ".iso". Will this make a difference upon playback on a pc?

When it turns the file into an image file(.ISO), it will say ".Toast" instead. Just highlight the ".toast" part and rename it ".ISO"

it will work for all systems I have found out. I had problems for a while with image files named .toast, I just renamed it to .iso and it works with my Mac and PC. As well as my WD HD TV device. Via HDMI cable
