So I have been reading up on backing up my dvd's I have seen some tutorials say "create ts folders" or "create an ISO image" My question is does it matter? Why choose one way over another?
It's really up to you. I like to keep everything in order. Nice and neat so I choose to have ISO. When working with video files your drive can become fragmented very easily. Even creating ISO's can be fragmented. The more fragmented your drive becomes the slower it gets because your computer has to search all over for the bits and pieces of the files. This can also affect your burning because your pc has to work harder. The only program that I know of that does not create fragmented ISO's is ImgBurn. You can test it for yourself.
ok so I choose burn image in imgburn and choose the ISO file. sounds easy enough and it will play on my samsung dvd-VR375? I will be using DVD+RW BTW
Open ImgBurn and choose write. ImgBurn will work on either ISO or a VIDEO_TS folder or just plain files. It will also erase your DVD-RW if you want.
I perfer iso images myself. Plus you can find ware that will let you add menus, if the iso is under a gig or two, you can put two movies on one disk and pick which one to watch
