I have downloaded (in multi-RAR format) a "bootable" DVD but when I burn the image using Nero 7.2 the resulting DVD does not boot. It burns OK (no errors) and looks OK (when I explore it) but it does not boot. I've tried to burn it twice. And verified the burn each time. Everything is fine. So I guess that there's something up with the boot sector of the image. My question: how do I make this DVD bootable. Can I extract the files from the ISO and copy these to a blank DVD using Nero's "make bootable DVD option"? If so, once the DVD boots how do I know what program to run? Is there something on the ISO image that tells me? Cheers.
you're getting confused with BOOT and AUTO PLAY.... a BOOTABLE disk is for your computer to "boot" up after it is turned on from being off! AUTOPLAY is when you put a disk in your drive it "AUTOMATICALLY PLAY" starts to play with a program! Like a music disk plays in realplayer or other software that you have on your computer that plays music disks. If you put your disk into the drive and it doesn't AUTOMATTICALLY start to play then open up the correct program that you want to play your disk, click FILE/OPEN/ and then the correct location where your disk is at(your drive)! Then it should play! unless your ISO file that you downloaded is corrupt and then it won't work at all.
