This thread has gone way off topic!

Nobody even understands the point trying to be made, its all just this "sux" that "sux", I got a link to this thread from the #ad_buddies IRC channel as I felt as if some of the advice was false....

Bitcomet is the worst choice of client to go with because of the reasons already discussed here. Like, its banned on ALOT of private sites.. Why? because its a bad client.

    Utorrent FTW!!

Oh, and one more thing... ROLFCOPTER, HAX!!!1!!one

yeah,i dont normally hang around in this forum, but someone posted this link in IRC,and just thought i'd drop in

what you must remember that bitcomet [bold]IS[/bold] banned on most of the best sites...reason???,because of its DHT feature,it allows non-registered members to connect to the tracker, and leech files from which they have no right to.
it doesnt recognise the private flag that these private sites have.
and you will have leechers who are not registered with the private tracker taking the resources from such sites

it affects your ratio on private sites, you could be uploading, but because someone is using bitcomet with DHT,the upload stats are going "no-where"

in a word, bitcomet is good if you use public trackers, and very bad for private trackers

i use private trackers mostly, and if i look down the list of leechers, all you can see is utorrent and azureus...you get the odd other client, but i'd say 95% of them are the 2 i mentioned, which says something,i guess they cant all be wrong

as for speeds, you use what ever works for you, personally i use azureus,i keep saying i will try utorrent, but havent got around to it just yet
as for bitcomet, bittornado, for me,they just suck fish

and as for getting back on the title topic,i wouldnt touch limewire with a 50ft bargepole

Ok, For thoose of you who do not understand why BitComent is a poor choice of client, let me elaborate.

In private communitys, torrent are not looking to be widely distrubuted, instead why are locked to the IP of the person who is registered there, with BitComent files are shared via a virtual DHT network, meaning ANYONE can freely leech the torrent, regardless of whether or not they are registered, who cares about the private flag??, this hurts private tracker's resources!! :(

To ensure optimum sharing and high band width, all trackers are banishing BitComet, what I am looking at right now reads:

“Unfortunately due to tracker security issues with BitComet 0.60 we will be banning this client to protect our users,” an announcement on xxxyyyyzzzz.xxyyzz said. “The ban will take effect at 13:00 GMT December 9th and will be effective until such time as the bug is fixed by the BitComet developers. This ban is NOT up for debate, do not make posts in the forums about it, they will be locked. As some of you may be aware several private trackers much like ours are banning the use of BitComet because of an issue with the client enabling DHT despite the existence of the 'private' flag.”

Believe what you want to belive, use what you want to use, you are entitled to do whatever you wish, I am simply trying to guide you :)

EDIT:Hursty beat me to it!! :p

    AS for your question.
Azureus is pretty cool iwth all its addons, but its a resource hog.
Utorrent is better because its simple and is light on resources.

Which is why i prefer Utorrent.

It's an option to use Limewire but I wouldn't advise it at all, nowadays almost everything has some sort of trojan or spyware on the back of it and there is a good chance it could brick your PSP. I suggest using torrents which are usually very safe, search for azureus on google, download that and go searching for torrents the rest is self explanatory but always read other people's comments on the torrent so you don't get stuck on 99.9% complete, and when you are finished with the torrent it's a good idea to rate and comment on it, afterall which torrent would you download the one with 300+ comments and 4-5 star rating or the torrent with 5 comments and 3 stars?
