    Hi

ROM drives have a second cable for audio data which is not needed for music cd because the bandwidth of music through an IDE cable is fine. But sometimes with DVD the audio can loose quality.

    What to do:
Open you computer at the back of the DVD rom drive you will find see a wide flat Grey IDE cable check and a coloured power cable. There should also be a thin grey "Audio cable" if their is not get one from your computer shop and connect it from the cd rom drive to your sound card which may be on the motherboard.

Otherwise you can copy the dvd to the hard drive this should also fix the problem.

Click start and open the control panel inside you will find device manager open it. Click the plus next to sound video and game controllers and check that you can see an audio controller. If you can see it open it to make sure there is no problems with it. Also if the driver has a problem there will be a yellow warning symbol on the device telling you.

Also check the CD / DVD rom drives.
