I'm reposting this issue to refresh it as I was getting no help on the other thread. I followed the tutorial on upgrading a hd on a softmodded xbox perfectly but ran into some problems. The Xboxhdm boot disk burned just fine. Afterwards, I shut the pc down, unplugged all hard drives and plugged the new one in. When starting up I told it to boot from cd first and popped the cd in. This is where I run into the problem. It acts as if it is booting up but doesn't go anywhere. All I get on my pc is a grayish screen with a blinking white line, as if it can't load the bootdisk. Any suggestions would be great, I have had no luck so far. Thanks.
Ok I think I may be able to help. I had a similar problem when I first started modding. It does matter with what type of media you are using. I would recommend using a Memorex or TDk cd-r and burn it at the lowest burn rate and use the "verify" tab with the software so you can make sure it is burned correctly. Second, you should change the boot order in the bios and place the cd in the drive before you reboot. Usually all problem stem from incorrect burning or too high of a burning rate. Try it out and let me know how it goes. What version of XBOXHDM are you using. If all else fails I'll be glad to give you a copy of mine. Pre-mastere and all. All you will have to do is burn in the image to media.
