I have two optical drives, purchased about a year apart (TSSTCorp SH-S162L and TS-H552B). Both have the latest firmware available and are working properly...except neither will accept bitsetting changes. Using the Nero CD/DVD Speed app, any bitsetting procedures I try always fail-I cannot set the book type to Dvd-Rom in any instance. Also, when I burn a disk using Nero Express, the book type remains Dvd-r even though I have the book type set to Dvd-rom. Could this be a problem with the media I am using, or with my drives?

Ahh. It seems that I did not understand this fully-Only "+" Disks are booktypeable. My questions continued in the Dvd+-R Media forum, as that seems more appropriate.
