Hi All, I've been using VLC media player for years. Since the last upgrade I have noticed that when I playback burned dvd's on my laptop that the playback lags. What I mean by lag is, there there is a tad of slow motion. For instance, if someone is running, you sort of see there legs move in slow motion. It is not obvious to the point where you can't watch the movie, but the never the less the issue is there. I also notice that the audio half way through the movie is delayed. Meaning, you can see lips move, but the audio follows a few seconds later. Has anyone else had this issue? Just a note. To confirm that the issue had nothing to do with the actual dvd I was watching, I replayed it on my desktop, using both, vlc, windows media player, and nero showetime. The video played perfect on the desktop. The issue with VlC that I have just described above, is taking place with my LAPTOP. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to post reply at your convenience.
The latest version is VLC v0.8.6e. Also, you can attempt to re-synchronize the audio to the video by going into Settings and then Preferences.
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion Pryme. Unfortunately, the issue still persists. Upon playback of movie on laptop, using vlc the moving plays on slow motion. It lags. I really think it's an issue with the newer versions of VLC only because when i replay the same movie on the desktop using VLC and Windows Media Player, it plays fine. Just a note. Is there any other issues that can be causing the burned movie to lag on the laptop? It really boggles my mind that I playback the same movie on the desktop using VLC and it plays fine, and yet when i play back the movie using vlc on the laptop (which has a newer version of vlc) it lags. All suggestions welcome. Thank you all Maybe my laptop is on it's way out it's a two year old Acer Aspire
I'm using the latest version, and so far no problems here. For whatever it's worth, try installing FFDSHOW.
