It seems now like flip top lid is rubbing on something when I close it?

It's where the lid connects on the right it's like there's a little plastic dust kinda where two parts are rubbing against each other. It only started to do this week after like using my ps2 for 2 weeks. It's the model V12 slim line version. You can tell it's rubbing together cause now it's just a tiny bit harder to close the lid. But opening makes no diff. Has anybody encountered this? and what did you do?
