I've got Nero 6.0 and a CDRW by MSI. I had the CD-Drive longer than the software. And the problem what I think is a problem, kinda just started when my software mysteriously upgraded by itself. When I burn a Audio or Data disc, I choose the burn icon on the toolbar. And then it take me to a window to ask me some more questions I select my speed (about 32-48x) and it burns my cd correctly cause when its done I test the CD to see if the data is there and its fine. But when it finishes the window that usually pops-up to tell you how fast it was burnning at, tells me "unknown Burn Phase". Sinse it burns the way it should there may not be a problem but this is just a precausion on my part. And I did a search on that error message - uknown burn phase - and this other guys DVD player didn't burn so help a person out please. - I HOLLA - ha ha ha...
I've never had problems upgrading to new versions. Just make sure your IDE settings are set to DMA. Also that other guys burn error could have been different, plus he's burning DVD's not cd. I wouldn't worry about it.
