    Wow

    1. You don't think an answer is coming. An answer may not be coming or it may be, most likely not.

    2. The cable box is over. Maybe, but maybe not, if a fix is found for N3 the same boxes may be capable of being upgraded. (Could be a good time to pick up a bargain though I would not be recommending it!!)

    3. This might be a good place to let us know how you get on with your satelite set up and the foreign channels, so don't dissappear, you could be invaluable!!

I went the opposite way, from satellite to cable

I use to watch Premiership on an Arab package (£110) for 12months. This include at least 4 games kicking off at 3pm on Saturday and every Sunday game and mid week
Also, Champions league, French and Portuguese.

They lost the rights to Premiere (German) so I watched their stuff for free with an updated firmware - Formula 1 coverage was awesome, number of different channels dedicated to different view, shed load of movie channels but, alas they moved to Nagra3 in the last 6months or so.

So that package is now closed but, there is football and movies available and Im more than happy to help any of you guys who wanna get started

Satellite offers so much more than cable, stick with it and the rewards are phenomenal

Hi A good starting point is a Tectnomate 5400ci+ you will need min.80cm dish and a motor the receiver can be flashed like a cable box and will pick up a good amount of channels it also has a cam and card slot for when you get into it big time. Check out satdownloads or satfiles two good sites to help you along the way.

Easy enough to set up but you do realise that most of the decent Sat providers are also migrating to Nagra 3 also.

If you know anything about CS, you should also know its not a good idea to post here about it, as with a lot of other forums. I like this one keeping it open would also be nice.

No worries I think CNN is launching soon on Freesat so add that to your list.

@ Ferg there is nowhere left to run LOL :) Although there will be a hell of a lot more channels than on cable :)
