well, a couple months ago my vaio laptop, which is 4 or 5 years old, essentially got really hot, so i yanked the battery out to stop it from burning or anything. Keep in mind this is one of the most f'd up least functional computers in history. so i turn it on, the screen turns blue with some random error, and now the screen wont turn on. im presuming its finished and ill probabley need a new one (not that i didnt need a new one anyway with that peice of junk). is there any feasible way i can repair this at home?

You first need to find out where the fault is. With a laptop, it a bit harder to troubleshoot cause you cant really swap parts around with another PC.

When you hit the power button, what exactly happens? Does it try to POST then halt, or is it like its not even plugged in?
