I am thinking about purchasing a 60GB iPod (Video), but I prefer Windows Media Player over iTunes. I have my library configured just the way i want it so I don't want to switch over to a new media player and have to change everything. Is there a patch for Media Player that allows you to transfer files to and from the iPod, or is there another program that is iPod capable but similar to Media Player. thanks
You can't use WMP. There is no 'media player' out there that'll allow you to transfer video & music to iPod other than iTunes.
Mr. Gates was most likely behind this decision seeing as Windows and Mac are rivals. I think Real Player can put music files onto the iPod but not sure about Video.
Most definetely. Someone should develop a patch to enable iPod compatibility. Now that sure would pee him off!
You can put it on through winamp. Winamp can probaly keep everything you want. (Winamp is not compatible with videos!)
Winamp is Ok, but iTunes is the most compatible. They should develop an alternative with a similar interface, but better "media player" features.. iTunes isn't very interactive..
On the other hand, however, winamp, though it is very versatile with various plug-ins and the like, doesn't, in my humble opinion have the best user interface. Windows media player has a nice interface with many customizable features, and is very simple to use.
I didn't mention "Windows media interface", I was just stating that Windows media player has a nice user interface..
Jidane - Yes, you can use iTunes, or winamp with the iPod plugin. iTunes - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Winamp - http://www.winamp.com/
Here's a website that shows you how to get by without ever needing to use iTunes again if you don't want. It has links to three programs you can install directly on to your iPod itself when it is in hard disk mode, so that when you plug it in to any other computer you have access to your music. You can take music off, put music on or rip CDs without needing iTunes. http://www.lifehacker.com/software/feature/hack-attack-the-selfsustaining-ipod-151662.php?mail2=true
