    Hi
Unsure if this is the right forum to be in, but i was in itunes, sorting folders etc and wondering (to try to save space on hard drive) if the files i have downloaded and copied to itunes need to be kept in the downloads folder on my computer too. If I delete from there will they still be there to play in itunes? Hope that makes sense..
    Thanks.

This is as good a place as any. It is not wise to delete your music. You will still have a copy on your ipod but you will not be able to play the music on your computer.

In most cases itunes does not copy the music. It is waistful to have the music in more than one place.

By deleting the music on your computer, you will eventually lose that music. New disked ipods last 2 years plus or minus 6 months. By eliminating your back up it is only a matter of time before you lose your music. The tunes are tiny if you are that hard up for space get an external drive. I saw a 500g one for 65 USDs the other day. That will hold more than you you could ever buy.

Thanks for the reply, that is an investment I will make I think. Yes, it doesnt take up much space, more the movies, had a big 'clearout'. Thanks again.

You can back up the movies to DVD. If they are DRMed that may not be such a good idea. I don't download movies so I am clueless how they are handled.
