Hello. Lookin' for a little help please. I purchased a new CD/DVD drive (Pioneer) and installed it without problems on my PC. Everything worked perfectly except for my itunes. I didn't realize this until I wanted to burn a CD. I got an error message saying the drive wasn't recognized (something like that). Anyway, upon exploration, I realized the itunes didn't recognize the changes in my drive. It still had my old CD drive listed in it's properties and offered me no way to change it, etc. Frustrated, I simply put my old drive back in. Should I have uninstalled/reinstalled my itunes instead? Any words of advice (and encouragement) are much appreciated. Thanks.
Did your computer realize you changed drives? I don't think iTunes takes a reading of your drives and stores a copy of it. And if it does a simple reinstall would probably do the trick.
Yes, the computer did, but itunes didn't. Any tricks to the uninstall/reinstall, or is it like any other program? Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.
Just like any other program. I think to uninstall you might have to go to the Add/Remove programs feature in Windows, as I don't think it has it listed as an option. And just so you know, you won't lose any of your music by uninstalling iTunes.
