So I just bought a brand new 80GB iPod classic off the apple website. Now I am trying to put a movie onto my ipod (transformers). I converted it to the correct mp4 format using "Videora Ipod Classic Coverter" (http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod-classic/) which in fact is designed for that very iPod. I have the latest version of iTunes (v7.5) that I downloaded from the itunes website so it is legit, nothing fake. Now I can sync my music onto my ipod with no problem. but when I go to add my mp4 movie to the library, my computer just freezes. I have played the mp4 movie in Quicktime once or twice, but if I try to play it now it just freezes my computer up too. I mouse over itunes/quicktime and its got the loading hourglass. I then cannot even open up my start menu so i therefor have to force restart my computer which im sure cannot be any good for it. This also happens with my photos i want to put on my iPod. I have resized them using VSO Image resizer and converted them to JPG images so I know that they are supported on my ipod. Now the photos start synicing, and they get to about 30, then all of a sudden it just stops and I have had to wait up to half and hour before it syncs just one more photo. Why is it taking so long? I have a generally fast computer so it cannot be that. Is there maybe another program I can use that will sync all of my songs, pictures and mp4's to my ipod? Can anybody please help me? Thanx in advance

this do sound odd, itunes do have a bug and crashes once in while but nothing that severe, i do how ever notice that videora is a cpu hogif you are encoding a video make sure to set it to below normal if you dont have alot of ram, i have 2.5 gig ram on my pc and runing videora at normal makes my comp slugish, but before adding the 1 gig ram, running videora on normal with 1 gid it would lock up my computer just like yo describe. so try that. if you still having problems heres a link for a program that allows you to put songs and videos in and from your ipod directly from windows explorer..

    Good luck

not exactly what i needed. Anapod explorer doesnt even work with an iPod classic (not with mine anyways) it detects my ipod and everything and I can see all my music on my iPod but when I put movies on there through the anapod explorer they dont even show up on my ipod classic (it still says no videos even though i've put them on there somehwere) so anyways, i have written this guide myself as it works so if anyone is facing the same problem, use this:

My Guide To Putting Movies on an iPod

    Thanks
