This is what I'd like to do. To save some space on my laptop I would like to be able to have itunes read directly from my ipod instead of my hard drive. In addition, I would like to be able to transfer mp3's back to laptop as needed. Is this set up possible?
There is a program on C-Net that allows you to do this. The program is ment to download all your files off your ipod incase your computer dies and you need to set up Itunes again. You could put all your music on your ipod then delete it off your laptop. Safer, just buy a $20 external hard drive, and leave all your music on that, and leave the hard drive at home in your closet
