Itunes Purchases Won't Transfer

A little background info before I get into my problem. I have two Ipods, a 40 gig 4th generation that is 99% full and a new 60 gig video. I used a different email address to register that video ipod than the original. Also, I had a hard drive crash a month or so back that caused me to lose a lot of material (but not my few Itunes purchases). I should probably also point out that I do not synch up my Ipods with Itunes (I don't have that much storage space, especially with my son's 40 gig Ipod).

I don't purchase many tracks from Itunes; I still desire to actually own a piece of plastic. But every now and then Itunes has some exclusive tracks that forces me to spend some money.

Last night I decided to buy the six-song Michael Stipe EP, using my original account. Today I attempted to transfer it onto my new Ipod but received a "not authorised" error. Fine, I assumed it was because that player was registered on another email address. I then hooked up the original Ipod and it wouldn't let me transfer it to that one either. How can this be? And the more I think about it, since any purchases can be placed on up to three(?) players, why could there be a problem with the new one?

    Any help would be appreciated.

try installing the latest update for itunes in the apple website. then, install the latest ipod software updates and see if that works.

Well, after the video freeze problems I won't update my Ipod software. Having said that, after some playing around I was able to fix the problem. Somehow my computer was not authorized for Itunes purchases, although I used it to purchase those tracks last night.

How did you install Itunes? Did you get it off the disk or of apple.com?

You havent use the WINAMP plug-in for ipods have you? Winamp's plug-in is not updated for the ipod videos. Although there are rumors that they are working on it but are haveing many technical difficulties.

No it is not "win-amp" It is just plain out winamp. You can get it for free at winamp.com. It is a great player. It is great for playing music, and viewing small sized video screens. Its only bad thing is that its full screen for movies is very weak. I personaly prefer real player for full screen. But everything else is great. Winamp also has a GREAT ipod plug-in. It is sooo much better then itunes. The only problem is that they dont have one to support ipod videos yet. Right when they do, i am switching back!!

http://www.winamp.com/player/index.php (just get the free player which is insane!!)

Also you get alot of free music/music videos. Although you can only listen to them on your computer. (unless you find a way to extract them, i think you would need two computers :( )

Winamp comes in because it will screw up you ipod video/ itunes if you have the ipod video/winamp (and the plug-in)/and your video ipod on the computer at the same time.

(regular winamp DOES NOT screw anything up on you ipod, The ONLY problem you will have is if you install the winamp ipod plug-in!!! Again, regular winamp is fine, to screw it up you would of had to also instal the seperate thing of ipod plug-in!!!)
