Some time ago,I bought Nero 7 (downloadable serial number and download install link) from an auction website (not ebay). Today,I have been told by Nero that I have a pirated unofficial serial number and I cannot use the program. Of the Nero 7 tools,I mainly use Nerovision to transfer downloaded movies to DVD.I can then have a 5.1 sound version of the movie even if the download was in plain stereo. Do I now buy the official serial number or is there another program I can get that'll give me the same features?
I'm not clear on how Nero can give you 5.1 out of a stereo track, unless it simply copies the front channels to the back i.e. it's not really surround sound at all. That aside, there are freeware tools you can use to substitute for Nero Vision itself, though getting good burning tools is a tall order. AVI2DVD or SUPER will be able to handle most of your conversion needs. But burning a DVD requires a lot more than just a VIDEO_TS folder; Video-DVD files have to be located in specific spots on the disc, so your burning software MUST be capable to doing a true DVD-Video compilation type. burnatonce and ImgTools (not IMGBurn) are the only freeware tools I know of that can do this given a VIDEO_TS folder, and I cannot comment on their success. As you found out the hard way, most of the "software" on auction sites is pirated. At least you didn't get hacked getting it off of a file-sharing network, like lots of folks seem to...
