There are no issue AFAIK with 1.6 firmware, what errors are you getting? If you downgrade to 1.5, you will no longer be able to play any new games.

If you say its doing this with originals then you have flashed it with the wrong DVD drive key, hopefully you have backed up your key and you can reflash. If not, new xbox time.

Make sure you load your dummy bin in to the source and ix1.6 Lite-ON repack into target. Click spoof source to target. Go to MTKFlash, click Lite-ON erase, click OK twice and power cycle the drive. You should get good flash chip properties and then click write.

What does your DVDkey look like? Has it worked previously before you tried to upgrading to ix1.6?

    Just reflash the drive.

"Play DVD" is usually 2 things. 1, the DVDkey is not good or not present in the firmware. 2, trying to play a wave 3 game on older firmware.

If you didn't flash the ix1.6 repack, that could be your problem. The original Lite-ON firmware that was released was not able to play Wave 3 games.

That's what the JF manual says also, but that sequence NEVER ever works for me. I can never get good "Flash Chip Properties" unless I hit the Intro/Device ID button and power cycle the drive at that time.

Drove me nuts my first time.
