iXtreme 1.7 release date

Hi guys,
Does anybody have an idea as to when iXtreme 1.7 or 1.61 will be released?

i need to update at the moment to 1.6 so i can play cod6/assasins creed 2 and other wave 3 games that come out.

but if the new ixtreme is coming out soon, i might aswell wait.

Not until Wave 4 games get released.

Who knows, maybe another few months.

 

whens the world going to end? seems to be the same type of question to me.

 

they don't just update for no reason. It's only when they have to, that they'll make a new ixtreme.

Might as well wait? I don't think that's the best logic. I'd always be sure to be at the up to date firmware.

 

I'm waiting for 2.0 to be really sure!

ROFL epic post, really regardless of when 1.7 or 1.65 or whatever the newest updated will be tagged as comes out, we all here strongly suggest updating your current fw to 1.51/1.6 pending on your drive. If you know how to do it yourself then why not? If you take it to a "pro" whats the $30 really in the grand scheme of things? my suggestion is regardless of wave 4, update to wave 3.

even microsoft doesn't update that often.

 

I heard MS is beta testing a new dashboard update with twitter and stuff, so if this gets a public release will the games that include this be wave 4? just curious.

Until Microsoft decides to "combat" the current firmware with a new "scheme", i.e. Wave 4, there is no need for anything higher than iXtreme 1.6

 

I'd say the August 12th update will be applied to disc to force users to update. That would probably be the Wave 4.

 

If that is put in the same place as the wave 3 update on the disks, there will be no need for a new iXtreme then.

 

Just my opinion. NXE + August 12th update would be larger in size so would give a different CRC. I guess we will wait and see.

No ETA. I doubt they will put out an ETA because of the issues last time. The firmware team has got enough on their plate to deal with now. Just use iXtreme 1.51 or activate ISO in the mean time.

 

people are acting as if the sky is falling. . .does this new wave 4 effect anyone? i mean are all of you freaking out over this really trying to play cars race-o-rama that bad? just sit back do things the way you have been and wait and see if ModernWarfare2 has wave 4 i bet that quickens 1.7s release time

 

I am on 1.51 with a Lite-On. I am not so worried about a new iXtreme, because 1.51 and 1.6 will be able to support Wave 4 (1.6 using the Activate Disc). I am more concerned about a ABGX360 update that will have full Wave 4 support.

 

Ditto! As long as my games are stealthed, then i dont mind the firmware not checking the extra partition (think thats how it works)

 

From what I understand is if you are on 1.51 and don't have and Hitachi Drive then you will have problems with wave 4 games like FairyTale Fights
