Well since the OSIG said BenQ, you got to have a BenQ drive. As for testing it out, if it is non-stealth FW hex edited to say iX LT for BenQ, you won't be able to test anything because that FW will play anything (Like iX LT is suppose to do). So, you really can't test it out.

 

mine has benq, i'm not trying to sound stupid by any means i'm just bored and this has got me wondering how to know for sure if its real or fake. i'ave been setting in #fw for 2 weeks and i know that some of the ops in there are testing the firmware. who's to say one of them did not let it leak.

 

I'd say a hex editior might be able to tell you

 

i was just looking at the hex to this firmware in question and the benq1.6 release to be honest it looks like the same thing to me, but i'm in over my head. i'm sure the firmware for the 2 would have to be similar in alot of ways. i'm going to say its 1.6 and wait like everyone else on an official release.

And honestly i am a pretty daring person trying stuff most would not, but at the same time i do use some caution.



If what is out there at the moment works i am content waiting a few more days or a week or two for an official and known secure release of anything.

But then again, i have always hacked my own firmware and "known" hacked firmware for various things....

You can brick any drive with the wrong firmware or any number of reasons that something has messed up.

What he's saying is that you can't really brick a drive beyond repair, as even most bricked consoles can be fixed by doing a flash through DOS. I have done this numerous times with BenQ and Liteon models that have had a bad flash by someone who didn't know what they were doing.

Didnt think so, at least this way i can confirm 100% to everyone whether it be real or fake. Not that i'd be using it anyway.

Someone has simply find > Replaced Zero fields (00) with 32 (20)

And its not 1.41 its a modified version of 1.61.

i dont understand why people are so hurting that they feel the need to release fake firmware. Do they really not have anything else better in thier lives?
