If there is no "fancy protection" on these, then why did you use AnyDVD? AnyDVD can get through anything. Some people don't have AnyDVD and wish not to have it because it costs money, so this post is pretty much pointless for those people.

Maybe by "no fancy protection" he meant that someone hasn't come up with something new AnyDVD can't handle YET.

Hard to believe nothing needed to crack the Potter movie. Do you think they are giving up? I mean AnyDVD thwarts em either before the movie comes out or that day.

Nah they're never gonna give up...they would rather spend endless amounts of money on copy protection than something like drugs, or world hunger...maybe they can feed the hungry people DVD's mmmm...

because i like to work from the hard drive, i usually keep anydvd disable but, yesterday i had to use it to ripp "A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE",straight from the disc this movie gave Decrypter and FabDecrypter such a hard time(was taking way too long to ripp)that i gave up. so i anabled anydvd, open shrink and the movie was ripped without a problem. so yesterday i was reminded why anydvd is so important to have, it is simply the best Decrypter there is.

    Hey-all

I know this is a DVD shrink forum but I recently got DVD-Cloner III, It is Fu**ING the SH*T! It backs up a full movie in less then 45min sometimes 25min. it acts like DVD Shrink and AnyDVD together in one program! (Im not trying to sell it to you or somthing, its just is threw my own experence of using many DVD backup programs!)

    Thought I would share,
    Muttao

    @mattn1979

Did you get unlimited free upgrades with that DVDCloner III? Because you're gonna need them in the future.

Txs for sharing! I usually use anydvd and clonedvd - with my specs 25 mins is about the max it ever is doing a full back up (well sometimes unchecking some extras) burning at 8x. Other times I'll use fab decrypter/vobblanker (to remove what I don't want) then shrink or recode - that process about 45 mins.

that site seems to be a bit bogus. the version offerred is way behind what is out now and do you think it will upgrade with everyone reporting the same serial number back to slysoft.

    Jarhead
Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.9.4.1)
    Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

    Media is a Data DVD.
    Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2072528 sectors (4047 MBytes)
Total size: 4136165 sectors (8078 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: JARHEAD
    Media is CSS protected!
    Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

    RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
    Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
    Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1

Jarhead has an invalid structure so I wouldnt say
'nothing special'. Although we have seen it before.
    Nothing ANydvd cant handle,
otherwise you will need vobblanker on this one.

    Anydvd is the best IMO.
    (But to each his own)

Walk the Line can be done with Shrink alone. No special protection on it.

Just backed-up Harry Potter, and the Goblet of Fire using Nero Recode2 , with AnyDVD running in the background.
